RARE 19TH C. SAMOAN RIDGED BLOCK-LIKE WAR CLUB

Materials: Hardwood, lime infill
Description: Samoan clubs like this are quite scarce and uncommon. This robust and heavy example features diagonal carved bands along its shaft with traces of lime infill remaining. It has 3 sets of horizontal relief-carved ridges with serve as the striking edges and points of the club. It has handsome brown color and rich patina. The butt end of the handgrip has nice subtle rippling and flares to prevent hand slippage when swinging it. The club is 95 percent intact but does have some slight loss to its points and corners from battle damage. Presented on a custom metal display stand.
