Description: Here's a scarce and fine example presented on a wood and metal display stand. Carved from a single piece of hollowed timber, it features deep and bold traditional motifs on its base in black, white and red. Its construction is distinctive featuring two raised nodes, one at its mid-section and the other at the mid-point of its base. It shows significant age and use having acquired a rich warm honey color patina. In good condition with some minor old chips, scratches and normal wear. If you own a shield or a house door from this culture you probably don't have a drum, which is the third form they expressed their rich artistic traditions.
Height 32.75" (83.5 cm), Width 5.5" (14 cm)
