Description: This striking abstract male kifwefe mask "kilume" with high comb is presented on a custom display stand. It shows obvious and long use, during which time it has acquired a warm varied patina. Some minor loss and separations in the wood. Possible old glued mend to the mouth? It would have been worn with a woven fiber costume and long raffia beard. It was danced at different ceremonies by men who function as police or also to intimidate an enemy in case of war. A very bold mask with strong presence.
