Description: This rare mask is presented on custom display stand. It has an aged blacked surface and is brute and surreal in style, having a soulful presence. It is unusual to see a ritual mask carved from bamboo, in this case the artist so effectively used the raised root noduals as texture around the forehead and chin region. It has two pierced side holes for attachment and has a semi-encrusted blacked patina. Some minor areas of surface loss on the chin and side from long use.
