Origin: Provenance: Field collected in 1959 by George Kennedy (UCLA). Descended to Laurie Austin, his niece.
Period: Mid 20th C.
Materials: Medium hardwood, earth pigments
Description: This openwork sculpture features a central ancestor figure with expressive oval face. Two stylized Cockatoo birds are above him and two other quadrupeds flank his sides. It retains 85 percent of its original paint an it has remnants of an old label on the backside.
