Description: This "wahaika" club is a transitional style carved by a highly skilled craftsman! The relief-carved figure is high quality and features inset paua shell eyes, outstretched tongue and elegant sweptback arms and legs. The perimeter striking edges of the club taper down to thin carefully formed edges, so much so, that the carver could not make even a slight mistake when forming it. The handle has a generous flared pommel with irregular round hole. In good condition minute loss on the edges. Gorgeous rich color turning to a reddish brown. Presented on a custom wood display base.
