Whimsical C. 1900 Kuna Indian Nuchu Shaman's Staff with dual figures!
Origin: Panama, San Blas Island, Kuna people

Description: This fabulous staff top features stacked opposing Nuchu figures! The smaller Nuchu is surmounted by the larger detailed figure. Each has classic features with elongated faces, deeply sunken eyes and prominent relief- carved nose. Its shaft is slender and dainty with an advanced lustrous use patina turning to dark brown. In good condition with minor surface loss and scratches on the shaft which was trimmed at its base long ago. Presented on a custom metal base.
