Description: This high quality prestige ladle would have been used by wealthy families on special occasions. The standing male figure with top knot on head, has amazing body definition and musculature with tattooing on the arms. The Wood is very old and its grain is incredibly tight. It has an advanced use patina. There is minor old chips around the rim and some hairline cracks (there appears to be a filled crack in the lower left area of the bowl). It is presented on a custom metal stand.
Note: This piece is "guaranteed authentic". Some skeptics say this style with "hands on the face" never existed among the Ifugao. Expert Alan Schoffel saw it a year ago in Paris and had no issues with it.
