Description: This impressive hook mask is very sculptural, retaining much of its layered bold pigments. It is finely-cared, having a lovely expressive face. It is in great condition having all of its delicate pointed hooks intact! This was due to the wood being fire-hardened to strengthen it. Note the craftsmanship where the inner hooks ALMOST "touch" each other in the center! The face is very serene having a spiritual countenance with puckered mouth and pierced nasal septum. Superb condition, no restoration. A wonderful sculpture, sure to be a focal point in any collection or modern interior. Presented on a custom metal display base.
