Description: This classic early Apa' apai ridged war club is a handsome example in great condition. It is also referred to as a" coconut leaf stalk club" because its shape resembles the stem of a coconut palm leaf. This example exudes prestige, mana and old world craftsmanship. It has warm rich color, making it very handsome in person. There is evidence of old coral rasp marks on the shaft suggesting early manufacture. It still retains is relief-carved pierced hanging lug at its end. Normal wear and use with minor old chips, dents and light scratches. Evidence of old applied varnish. A custom stand can be fabricated for an additional fee.
