Origin: N. Philippines, Luzon, Ifugao People (Provenance: Recently uncovered in an old Barn in Connecticut. Collected and brought back during the Philippine American War 1899-1902 )

Materials: Extremely heavy dense hardwood (Likely Narra)
Description: This panel fragment is deeply carved and is reminiscent of the work of American Artist Frank Stella. At the same time the fluid lines look like it was influenced by a swept Zen Garden! This example has the addition of a primitive carved bird on the back! A high design modernist piece for any interior. Significant age and use patina. Some age cracks, chipping and minor loss.
