Origin: New Guinea, E. Sepik Province, Prince Alexander Mountains, Southern Abelam area, Wosera People (Provenance: Ex. Michael Hamson. The figure comes from a collection in North Carolina and was purchased in 1976 by New York Dealer and field collector Lynda Cunningham)

Description: This elegant female spirit figure is very refined and has good scale. Its composition is beautiful, fluid and undulating. She has a traditional Wosera area face and retains most of its original polychrome pigments. Note the inward turned knock knees are also a classic feature. In good condition with some wood separation on the back side. Presented on a custom metal display stand. Amazing value on this one, since it was purchased for $2400 in 2012.
