Origin: Dem. Rep. of Congo, Yacoma People (Provenance: In February we purchased a 350+ piece collection of African and Oceanic Weapons from an English Gentlemen in Suffolk UK. These old "dual-side knives" are among a small group of quality pieces we've held back specifically for our website clients) Period/Date: 19th century Materials: Iron, wood, copper Description: These fine quality knives look great as a pair and each is presented on a custom bronze-tone display stand. Knife "A" with rounded head is in good condition except for some minor loss and rubbing around he wood pommel. Dimensions: KNIFE "A" Height 13.5" (34.5 cm), Width 3 3/8" (8.5 cm), KNIFE "B" Height 14 3/8" (37 cm), Width 4" (10cm). Knife "B" shows it was actually used in a battle as seen by the metal-on-metal impact ding on the upper left region of the blade. Its handle is beautifully wrapped with copper wire.
