MAGNIFICENT UGANDA BATTLE AXE
Origin: Period/Date: Late 19th- Early 20th century Materials: Hardwood, forged iron, copper, lead Description: In addition to being an effective weapon, this superbly crafted axe would have afforded its owner a high level of prestige. It would have been used in battle as well as in important ceremonies and dances. Its shaft features hundreds of lead inlays mixed with copper embellishments in various geometric shapes.
