MAGNIFICENT TIWI CEREMONIAL SPEAR, EX. BRITISH MUSEUM

 

Origin:  N. Australia, Northern Territory, Melville or Bathurst Island, Tiwi People     (Provenance:  In February we purchased a 350+ piece collection of African and Oceanic Weapons from an English Gentlemen in Suffolk UK.  This special "spear" is among a small group of quality pieces we've held back specifically for our website clients.  The collector purchased it from an unnamed dealer in London in the 1980s.  The spear had been on loan for a period of time to the British Museum)

Description:  Here's a fine quality early spear retaining 90 percent of its original paint.  Presented on a custom metal display stand.  Condition is superb.  There is an natural bend in the shaft.  Presented on a custom metal stand.
