SUPERB 19TH C. BANDA THROWING KNIFE

Origin:  Central Africa, Congo, likely Banda people    (Provenance:  Acquired from an old French collection)

Period/Date: 19th- Early 20th century   

Materials:  forged iron, copper

Description:  This fine quality "E" form throwing retains its original copper coiled handgrip.   Presented on a bronze-tone display base.  The blade shows magnificent craftsmanship and features beautiful embossed decoration!  It is a testimony to the blacksmith's skill, artistry and vision.  In good condition with some minor tarnishing.  The surface of the blade is very good overall.
