Origin:  Melanesia, Solomon Islands, New Georgia  (Provenance: Acquired from a private collection in Pasadena California.  It was collected sometime in the early 1900's by a family member who belonged to the "South Seas Evangelical Mission" while working as a teacher in the western Solomon Islands)

Period/Date: Circa 1870's

Materials: wood, plant fiber, pearl shell, charcoal resin paint
