Description:  Here's a little gem.  This wonderful quality ancestor amulet mask likely served as a protective charm.   It would have been attached to a woven net bag and carried by its owner affording him constant protection while away from the safety of the village.   For its size, the mask is incredibly detailed featuring a pierced septum with upturned tear-drop nose having and outstretched tongue.  Its surface has a semi-encrusted patina and the inside of the mask is dry and bare as it should be.   In addition to the ears being pierced it has 8 other pierced holes around the perimeter for attachment.   Condition is excellent and it is presented a hardwood and metal stand base.
