Origin: Japan Period/Date: circa 1870-1890 Materials: ceramic Description: This powerfully graphic bowl is decorated with moriage type raised enamels of the Gods "Fujin and Raijin" (wind and thunder/ lighting). These figures originated in the 17th century on a famous temple screen done by Ogata Korin. The bowl is in fine condition except for a tiny chip on the rim. Artist is unknown.
