Origin:   Nigeria, Yoruba People  (Provenance: Ex. Michael Sorafine Primitive Arts, Los Angeles, Previously in an old California collection)

Period/Date: Likely first quarter of the 20th century

Description:  Here's a lovely old pair having distinctive features carved by the same hand.  The artist carefully made their hands with closed defined fingers.  They are in very good condition and have rich natural patinas from age and use.  There is a minor dent to the back of the head of the female.
