Its navel is a focal point on the torso. As many boards are, this one was cut from the side of a dugout canoe. The board served as an emblem that conveyed meaning about the clan group. This one is deeply carved and has a suspension hole on top. In good condition showing obvious use expect for some pigment loss, small dings and scratches as would be expected.
