MAGNIFICENT BOIKEN FIGHTING CLUB

Materials: Very Dense Wood (Likely Palm wood or related species)
Description: This fantastic club has superbly carved iconography on both sides and is presented on a custom metal stand. One side has a supernatural anthropomorphic spirit figure with tail and raised arms! The complex motif on the opposite side has several spirit faces incorporated into its design. This rich iconography likely served to scarce a potential adversary and to empower and protect is user. This early fine quality club has seen a lot of use and has acquired a dark semi-encrusted patina turning to red on the handle. There is some minor old loss to each end.
