Origin: Bembe peoples, D. R Congo (Provenance: Collected in the 1930s, Ex. Druout Action, Paris) Period/Date: Very Early 20th century Materials: Hardwood, porcelain, remnants of fetish material Description: Here's a fine female figure with inset porcelain eyes. She is leaning forward and has good movement with deeply carved raised scarification. There is a hollowed core in the anal cavity which once contained fetish material. In has acquired a warm rich patina from age and use. In good condition with a few age cracks. Dimensions: Height 8" (20.5 cm), Width 2.5" (6.5 cm) Price: SOLD
