OUTSTANDING BAMANA FIGURAL DOOR LOCK

Origin: W. Africa, Mali, Bamana People     (Provenance: Recently acquired from an old San Francisco estate of primitive art, purchased in the 1960s)

Description:  This very attractive and powerful door lock features inset tin eyes and long erect ears.  Original cross bar with decorative incising.  Presented in a finely made wooden base with contoured foot wedges.
